Navel (Belly Button) Piercing

16+ NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

I don’t mind piercing minors at all!  
But, unfortunately the navel piercing must wait until 16+!!!

Many studios don’t take the time to explain why, but I love to help educate (in a positive way)! 🥰

Young woman, especially under 16, are going through a lot of changes.

As they blossom, not only are they becoming taller, but their hips are becoming wider (with puberty). A navel piercing typically harbors a 7/16” navel curve. With a woman growing taller and their hips widening, that 7/16” curve starts to hold less & less tissue, as it’s being stretched into both directions. It ends up looking what they refer to as a “1990’s belly button piercing”, with barely any tissue remaining… per se...one 'lil "flick" could "take it out". Or worse, total rejection (pushing the jewelry out like a splinter-leaving an awful scar).
-If they are lucky enough to have it remain, their is a significant chance it on it barely hanging on for dear life. 
Since the fistula (piercing channel) is also being stretched width wise, their jewelry will remain "floppy”, as their tissue will not taughten back around the jewelry. Meaning, the piercing channel remains wider/their tissue holding such jewelry, doesn’t “spring” back.
Due to all of these reasons, the substantial high chance of rejection, & more (the aftercare of-at least a 6-9 month heal, etc.), it is fully recommended to wait until bare min, 16+ in age (& my policy).

I totally understand they want to express theirselves...and I'm 100% for that! But, I promise, it is better to wait, than to have the possibility of this not only occurring, but also the potential possibility of no longer having the opportunity to have it pierced again in the future.
We can have fun experimenting with other piercings to "prep" them for their future "goals" between time! Having something to look forward to isn't always that bad! Especially when you know long term it will be worth it! 💯❤️
